You can add Custom Fields to vendor's profiles for the internal use of your company. When you add a custom field to a vendor's profile, it'll add this custom field to all vendors that you view. Again, custom fields are for your own internal use so they can be for whatever your company needs them for. Also note, although the fields you add will be added across all vendor profiles, the values input into those fields will be unique per the vendor profile. We'll explain this furthermore within this user guide.
How to Add Custom Fields:
- Navigate to the vendor profile you'd like to view. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Click the plus symbol within the Custom Fields section.
- Click the Add Custom Field link.
- Select the Custom Field Type. Note: When adding either a select list, radio buttons, or checkboxes list, you'll be able to add additional items at this time. You can also choose to have one selected as a default. If you're unsure of what these Field Types mean, please view the Field Type Classification section below.
- Input a Custom Field Label or Label Name (dependent on the custom field type). This label will be implemented to all vendor profiles for your internal use.
- If select list, radio buttons, or checkboxes are selected as the Custom Field Type, you can add additional options by clicking the Add Item button.
- Click Submit. Note: Any new custom field you create here will immediately become part of your PRO Details for all vendors, and you may then at any time go into a specific vendor's profile PRO Details tab and add / update the "value" of that custom field for that vendor as appropriate.
How to Add Values to these Custom Fields:
As stated above, only the Select list, Radio Buttons, and Checkboxes list options will be able to have additional values. The text input option will simply provide them with a text field that they can manually enter in content for.
- Navigate to the vendor profile you'd like to view. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Click the plus symbol within the Custom Fields section.
- Click on the pencil icon on the field you'd like to add values to.
- You will see an Add Item button for all custom field types except Text Input Field, as a Text Input Field will give them a single field to type in their content. Click Add Item to add additional values to this list.
- Enter in a new value on the blank field that populates. Note that you can check the Default Selected box to have this item be selected by default.
- Click Submit.
How to Select a Value:
- Navigate to the vendor profile you'd like to view. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Click the pencil icon on the row of the field you'd like to select the value for.
- Select your desired value. Note: If the custom field type is "Text Input Field", you'll type in your value and not select it from a list.
- Click Submit.
How to sort custom fields:
Custom fields can be sorted manually. This sort will apply across an organization and is not vendor specific.
- Navigate any vendor profile. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Click the plus symbol within the Custom Fields section.
- Click the Custom Field you want to sort, drag it to the desired position and release your mouse.
- Repeat this exercise for all fields you wish to sort.
- When finished sorting, click the "X" icon next to the Custom Fields title to close edit mode.
How to Delete Custom Fields:
As stated above, Custom Fields will appear on all vendor's profiles under the PRO Details tab. If you delete a Custom Field, it'll delete it globally. Ensure that you want to delete them from every vendor profile before proceeding.
- Navigate to the vendor profile you'd like to view. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Click the plus symbol within the Custom Fields section.
- Click on the trash can icon on the Custom Field you'd like to delete.
- You will be prompted to verify that you'd like it deleted: WARNING! Deleting a custom field will completely remove the field and ALL data associated with all for ALL vendors. If you'd like, click the Yes, I understand - Delete this Custom Field button.
How to Delete Values for Custom Fields:
Note: The values will be deleted for this vendor's profile only.
- Navigate to the vendor profile you'd like to view. If you're unsure of how to do this, please view our Search Like a Pro User Guide.
- Once within the vendor's profile, click on the PRO Details tab.
- Within the Custom Fields section, click the trash icon on the value you'd like to delete.
- You will be prompted to verify that you'd like it deleted: NOTICE! You are about to clear the value(s) for this custom field. If you'd like, click the Yes, I understand - Clear the Value(s) button.
Field Type Classification:
- Select List: They will be able to select a value from the list of options you've inputted.
- Text Input Field: They will be able to type any content into a text input field for the value.
- Radio Buttons: They will be able to choose from the values you've inputted by selecting the radio button.
- Checkboxes: They will be able to choose from the values you've inputted by selecting the checkbox.
