We understand that you need to be confident that mail is being promptly and properly delivered through our various services, so as a result of this recent notice from Mandrill (and despite their assurances that all has now been resolved) we’ve discontinued our use of Mandrill altogether and have implemented a new SMTP server solution to ensure deliverability.
We’d like to know if you’ve received any reports of email deliverability issues that may be a result of Mandrill’s problems. Examples might be reports from recipients or lack of response from sends. If you have, we’ll have our Client Services Department follow up on these specific cases.
We appreciate your support and are very sorry for any inconveniences you may have experienced due to this issue.
Mandrill, VCG's 3rd party transactional mail provider for our SMTP service has reported an issue with mail delivery for VCG services (including Signsearch, SignsearchPRO).
VCG contacted Mandrill's technical support department to ask that they investigate reported delivery issues and we received the following notice at 10:42am EDT, July 26th:
"Recently, we were made aware that some of our sending IPs have been blacklisted, which is causing issues with delayed delivery or spam filtering for some users. The listing started on Monday, and is resulting in email landing in spam or junk folders, but emails sent before that should not have been affected by any listings. Our delivery team is aware and they currently working towards resolving the matter, and we will hopefully have this issue resolved soon."
We believe that the issue started much earlier than Monday, and that Mandrill is just now publicly reporting this situation due to pressure from providers such as VCG.
At this time we're not sure of how wide spread the impact of this is, but we are diligently working on a solution and will provide you with an update.
Again, our sincere apologies for any inconveniences this matter has caused.
