We will be performing a software upgrade to SmarterMail, the hosted mail solution provided as part of your VCG email and website hosting solution, on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
The work is scheduled during the off-peak hours of 12:30am - 3:00am, CST.
The upgrade will bring the hosted mail server to the latest version of SmarterMail (version 14.2.5704), and contains several fixes as well as feature additions. Details regarding this upgrade can be found below. Please note that your server instance may not include all of the details provided in this list (complete details can be found at http://www.smartertools.com/smartermail/releasenotes/v14.aspx).
You may lose email access during this period, however, no email data will be lost during the upgrade. You may also experience some slight delays in sending or receiving mail immediately following the completion of the work. All email will, however, be successfully transmitted (including mail sent to you during the upgrade period).

- A menu option under Actions to retrieve the CalDAV URLs to use for the users personal calendars.
- A temporary address can now be generated by users with a short life span that operates as an alias to their account. This is to allow sign ups to external services without giving out the account's real email address.
- A user can now set which calendar is the default to use when creating new appointments.
- An instance of a recurring calendar event can now be deleted from the context menu.

- Blocked senders will now block on the From address in the header of the message, in addition to the Mail From address given in the SMTP session. Previously it only blocked on the Mail From address of the SMTP session.
- Messages sent over SMTP to postmaster@[domain] will now deliver to the primary domain admin and the global postmaster address if a postmaster account has not been created for the target domain.
- Migrating the same Google calendar twice will now overwrite the previously migrated events instead of creating duplicates.
- Queued mailbox migrations now import using multiple threads.
